"It has a good camaraderie. The guys at Manor Park are a very good team. Thursday club is always a lot of fun."
Des Hager, member for 55 years.

Manor Park Golf Sanctuary was established in 1913 and currently has around 400 members, most of whom are fairly active, with a wide range of membership options to suit most golfers' pockets and playing frequency.

Manor Park is somewhat unique as it is a golf course and bird-life park and the club holds an internationally recognised sanctuary environmental certification from Audubon International, New York.

18 Hole Championship Course
It has an 18-hole championship par 71 golf course set in beautiful native bush and wetlands with gently rolling fairways bordered by the Hutt River on the eastern side and the Haywards Stream to the west and is home to 20 different specie of bird. Audubon International's  Co-operative Sanctuary Programme strives to achieve compatibility of both the needs of the golfer and the environment in a harmonious and complimentary way.

Extensive Facilities
The club, which services the wider Wellington area,  is also well known for its extensive practice facilities including a par 3 practice hole, fairway practice area and separate two-tiered chipping, putting and bunker practice green as well as modern driving nets. Other facilities include a modern two-storied clubhouse with bar, lounge and cafe and a ground level sprig bar and summer deck overlooking the well- manicured course.

National Representatives
The club has had many New Zealand and provincial representatives over the years, including current high- profile New Zealand touring professionals, such as its Michael Campbell (US Open winner), Lynnette Brooky and its Honorary Member Gareth Paddison.

Active Junior Programme
It has a very active Junior club with a highly respected coaching programme for the young golfer. This was the model system for the New Zealand Golf 'Junior Plus' coaching programme ten years ago.

Well Managed
Manor Park is governed by a Board of Management with a good mix of experienced sports management and business people tasked by the Constitution to foster members' interests, develop the club, its course and facilities for present and future generations of golfers.

First Choice In Wellington Golf
'To make Manor Park the golf club of first choice in Wellington.'
and its slogan is:
'A Sanctuary for All Golfers'
